What they needed
Nick wanted his bathroom to feel modern and brand new — but didn't want to gut it to the studs to get there. The challenge was achieving a dramatic before-and-after through a fast, contained refresh in a Somerville apartment, with finish quality high enough that the result reads as a full renovation.

Our process — in practice
The same five-stage process, applied to this project.
A 20-minute video walkthrough set the full refresh scope — what to refinish, which fixtures to swap, and the tile and paint direction — with a written, same-day quote. Nick knew exactly what he was getting before day one.
All work was contained within the bathroom — no dust or debris reached the living space or hallway, and no demo dumpster on site. A refresh keeps building disruption to a minimum.
Every surface being refinished was hand-sanded to a clean base before any finish went on. This prep is what separates a refresh that lasts from a quick coat that peels within a year.
The vanity was refinished in 2K polyurethane, the tile refreshed, matte black fixtures installed, and the walls repainted in semi-gloss — a coordinated finish that reads as a full renovation.
On the final day, every refinished surface, fixture, and tile line was inspected with Nick before sign-off, with touch-ups handled on the spot. The hallway and elevator were checked clean before departure.
The transformation

The result
A dated bathroom transformed into a modern, brand-new space — through a contained refresh finished in 3 days.
Jerry completely transformed our bathroom into a modern, functional space that feels brand new. His communication, professionalism, and attention to detail were exceptional throughout the project. The finished result exceeded our expectations, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.
