How it's done
Five deliberate steps, built around condo building requirements — from remote video estimate to hallway inspection at close.
We start with a remote video estimate — no in-person appointment needed. You walk us through your kitchen on a live call (FaceTime, Google Meet, or whatever works), and we follow along while you open cabinet doors, show us existing hardware, and describe any repairs or concerns.
Based on the walkthrough, we deliver a written estimate the same day. The estimate covers materials, cabinet count, finish selection, and timeline. No surprise line items at sign-off.
Condo planning: We also gather your building's access requirements during this call — freight elevator reservation windows, HOA documentation needs, any noise curfews, and your building manager's contact if applicable. Coordinating these details upfront means no delays on project day.

On the morning of your project, cabinet doors are removed and numbered with painter's tape so every door goes back exactly where it came from. All remaining cabinet frames are masked with 3M ScotchBlue painter's tape — clean lines at every edge.
The entire workspace is enclosed with clear plastic sheeting: countertops, appliances, and the floor below the cabinet run are fully protected. Dust containment is sealed within your unit.
Condo operations: All equipment — spray station, sanding supplies, masking materials — is staged inside your unit. Nothing is stored in the hallway, lobby, or common areas. Elevator access is coordinated per your building's reservation window.

Every cabinet surface is hand-sanded using cork sanding blocks with 220-grit paper. Hand-sanding creates the micro-tooth the finish needs to bond without introducing the vibration and noise of power sanders.
After sanding, we inspect every surface for chips, gouges, raised grain, or filler inconsistencies. Minor damage is repaired with wood filler or sandable primer, leveled flush, and re-sanded. Surfaces are wiped clean before any coating goes on.
Condo courtesy: No orbital sanders, no belt sanders, no power tools that transmit vibration through condo walls. Hand-sanding is quieter than a normal conversation — your neighbors won't know the work is happening.

We apply a factory-grade 2K (two-component) polyurethane finish with an HVLP (high-volume, low-pressure) spray gun. "2K" refers to the two-part chemistry — a finish resin and a hardener catalyst that cross-link on curing. The result is a hard, scratch-resistant, factory-smooth coating that holds up to daily kitchen use far longer than single-component paints.
Every surface gets a minimum of two finish coats, with light de-nib sanding between coats. The final coat is applied in a single, smooth, wet pass — no brush marks, no drips, no orange peel texture.
Shared-air systems: We use a low-VOC waterborne 2K formula specifically chosen for multi-unit buildings. It's safe for shared ventilation systems, produces minimal odor, and dissipates within hours — not days. We bring our own portable filtration and don't vent into common hallways.

After application, doors cure for a minimum of 24 hours before reinstall. During cure, the 2K cross-linking process reaches full hardness — this is what gives the finish its durability. We schedule reinstall for the following day so you're not waiting on staging.
Reinstall is the reverse of day one: doors go back to their numbered positions, hardware is torqued correctly, and all masking is removed. The work area is swept, wiped, and left cleaner than we found it.
Building exit protocol: The final walkthrough includes walking the elevator path and hallway with you to confirm no incidental marks or scuffs from equipment transport. You receive your labeled touch-up bottle with color-matched finish and mixing instructions. We review the guarantee terms, and you sign off on the project.
